Grain whisky normally refers to any whisky made, at least in part, from grains other than malted barley. This could be whisky made using corn, wheat or rye.  Single means its made from a single distillery and grain means it could be made from grain and also with or without malt barley.  Grain whiskies have generally sweeter notes than single malts.
