Speyside single malts are single malt Scotch whiskies, distilled in Strathspey, the area around the River Spey in Moray and Badenoch and Strathspey, in northeastern Scotland. The two best-selling single malt whiskies in the world, The Glenlivet and Glenfiddich, come from Speyside. Speyside whiskies are the light, grassy and some are rich, sweet, with notes of sherry.

Spicy and luxurious

The mature, deep, spicy one: a deeper Sherry influence adds more spiciness and a liquorice tang. Greater age adds body and develops the distinctive fruitiness to a rich raisin character.

Nose: Rich and complex notes of toffee and butterscotch combine with ripe peach and bitter orange
Palate: Perfect structure. Initial notes of soft apricot and cream are offset by developing flavours of blackcurrant jam and sweet oak with a touch of honey
Finish: Very long and balanced, progresses from crème brûlée to a gentle oak flourish
